We love collaborating with local artists and vendors, so when sewing blogger, Madalynne contacted us to do an interview for her website, we could not resist!
Her style is so sweet and organic, something we truly love here at Priscilla Costa. So one weekend we got a visit from this pattern maker and social media maven and sat in our studio to discuss everything from the beginning of our careers to our specialties as seamstresses.
Her blog about her visit with us can be read here. She asked such interesting questions, it felt as if we were old friends as we talked and talked.
One of the most prominent topics we discussed was my specialty in making fuxicos, which are sometimes called “yo-yos.” These floral details are one of my favorite ways to add interesting and feminine texture and detail to a wedding gown.
Over the years I have perfected my method of creating these little fabric floral pieces and Madalynne could not wait to hear about how we make them. She decided to give her readers a tutorial, which can be read here.
We are so happy that Madalynne wanted to work with us and include us in her “handmade” series. We had such a wonderful time getting to know her and getting a chance to share our love of handmade designs.
We love reading her blog and checking out what she is up to and cannot wait to see what else she creates!
