We absolutely love working with our brides and creating their vision with them. With our amazing bride, Angela, we were fortunate enough to create her wedding dress, her bridal shower ensemble, veil and hair piece! As an added bonus, we also created the mother of the bride dress and the flower girl dress. We adored working with this bride and her family so much we had to blog about our amazing experience!
So let’s get to know a little about the bride and groom. Angela Pistone comes from a loud and loving Italian family. We knew how important her traditional Italian heritage is to her, so we created an ensemble fit for this bellissima bride. The groom, Ryan Buchter, is a pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Priscilla and Angela met a few years ago when they did fashion shows together. They quickly got to know each other and eventually began talking about Angela’s upcoming wedding for Jan. 2015 and that she had already purchased a wedding dress from Bridal Garden in Marlton, N.J.
Angela first contacted us in Oct. 2014 on Facebook after she discovered that she no longer loved her original wedding dress. She wanted something one-of-a-kind and asked us if she could custom make a dress for her. Angela showed her inspiration dresses she liked and we quickly brainstormed ideas for Angela’s dream dress.
We created a sketch and presented Angela with swatches of silk material and vintage Alençon lace. Angela cried tears of joy because she knew immediately that this combination was exactly what she wanted.
At this point, it was the end of October and Angela’s wedding was coming up fast. We scheduled appointments with several vendors in New York City to find the perfect lace for Angela’s dream dress. Angela sent us a picture of the lace she wanted and we went on a hunt to find the perfect lace!
We arrived at the first vendor in New York and sent Angela pictures of at least 30 different laces, none of them were a match. We went to a second vendor and again, no such luck. We began to think that if worst came to worst, we would just order lace from England. Finally at the last vendor, the shop manager had the exact lace that we were searching for!
We sent Angela a picture of the newly-found lace and Angela was so excited she began to cry at her work desk!
We loved working with Angela’s lively family as much as we loved working on the dress! We not only made Angela’s wedding dress, but also the mother of the bride dress and the flower girl dress.
We knew how important family is to Angela, so her dress reflected her traditional Italian roots with a modern twist.
To begin Angela’s dream dress, we started with a muslin fitting. Muslin is used to ensure a seamless and comfortable fit for the bride’s dress.
After the muslin fitting, Priscilla added silk taffeta and hand sewn Alençon lace with bobbinet tulle to create this mermaid silhouette dress.
The dress also had a spandex construction inside which allowed for the dress to have both a fitted bust while still showing off Angela’s back.
To finish off the look, we opted for a cathedral silk tulle veil which is simple, yet gorgeous. This modern silk tulle veil drapes, instead of creating the fullness of the traditional nylon tulle.
We also created an embellished hair piece for Angela. This hand-beaded statement piece mixed vintage style with boho chic to create the perfect finishing touch on Angela’s wedding day ensemble! We named this piece “Italiana” and it is now available to order! For inquiries, email email@example.com
We also custom-made Angela’s bridal shower outfit. We hand-cut the lace used for Angela’s fashion-forward crop top!
Here’s the end result in action at Angela’s bridal shower! This ensemble featured a fitted white skirt and a lace crop top!
One of our favorite moments of this gorgeous wedding was the sweet father daughter dance. We can only imagine what this old-school Italian father felt when he gave away his little not-so-little girl!
Angela and Ryan tied the knot in January at The Marion in Cinnaminson, NJ! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Buchter, your wedding was a home run! Everyone at Priscilla Costa Bridal would like to send our best wishes and all the luck in the world to the happy couple.
Special thanks to RHM Photography for beautifully capturing some of these precious moments!
