GOLDEN GLOBE GLAM

Red carpet season is upon us, and if you’re like us here at Priscilla Costa Bridal, we simply drool at the idea of what people are going wear on the red carpet.  Last night’s Golden Globes definitely displayed a few pieces we just couldn’t get enough of.

Starting with Olivia Wilde’s shimmery curve hugging emerald Gucci gown. Not only was she one of the many beautiful pregnant women walking the red carpet, she was in our opinion one of the most beautiful. Her gown was not only breathtaking but was a prime example that sometimes being demure and sultry doesn’t necessarily mean showing copious amounts of skin.

While Cate Blanchett is known for Avant-Garde and rather unique fashion choices, she proved that she is the ultimate red carpet head turner when sporting a more matronly dress with long hem and high neckline that demonstrated intricate and fine craftsmanship with the beautiful lacework in her Armani Privé gown.

When it comes to drawing attention at the Golden Globes, some women tend to go for the daring plunging neckline, but Girls’ actress, Allison Williams went the opposite route and opted for a more interesting neckline in Alexander McQueen. She kept her silhouette and color palette simple but had fun with textures. It was definitely a fun look for the Globes.

Newcomer Lupito Nyong’o did nothing short of show stop with her flawless makeup and fresh and fun red dress. Going for a different take with sleeves in her Ralph Lauren gown, the 12 Years a Slave actress had the perfect mix of refreshing, fun and class. The color complimented her gorgeous skin tone perfectly.

She may star on American Horror Story, but actress Sarah Paulson was nothing short of stunning. In particular we really enjoyed her use of the T-length hemline. The Marchesa dress gave us a retro vibe with a classic 1950’s sense of Déjà vu. The various tiers and sparkles gave her an innocent and classy look that was a refreshing look on the red carpet last night.

While the dresses are certainly our favorite part, there were certainly some leading ladies that grabbed our attention in other ways! Did anyone see Hayden Panettiere’s slicked back rock and roll do last night? Certainly a little different than the more softer approaches she has taken for previous award shows and Jaqueline Bisset? Dropping cuss words and extending her speech pass the typical Golden Globes music that cues you to simply wrap it up, that surely left for amusing moments in what is normally a very long award show.

While everyone looked stunning last night rocking various styles, we were also disappointed in the lack of innovation with this year’s trends. Maybe next year our heads will turn at women in pantsuits? Androgyny? Less strapless? And more aww-worthy looks.

XOXOXO,
