The Fourth of July is one of our favorite summer holidays to get together with family and friends and celebrate the independence of our country, so what better way to celebrate with those people we love than a wedding celebration on Independence Day?
A Fourth of July-inspired wedding can be a piece of red, white and blue cake. You already have a white dress, and with a bouquet of blue and red, the bride is ready to go! If you’d rather go for a hidden “something blue,” you can have something special sewn into the skirts of your dress like we did with one of our brides by stitching a Penn State lion’s paw into the lining of her bespoke dress.
Who wouldn’t want fireworks during their first kiss as a married couple? The Fourth of July is the perfect excuse to have a fireworks display timed perfectly to the kiss that will cause fireworks both in your head and in real life.
Accessorizing the wedding party in red, white and blue as well as the decorations for the ceremony and reception is also a must. Ushers with red and white bow-ties and blue shoes for the bridesmaids can add such a cute and trendy touch.
Drinks can be garnished with blueberries and strawberries and table settings can be given hints of red and blue with American themed place cards. Adding unexpected patriotic details will keep guests guessing and the theme from becoming too over the top.
There are so many possibilities with a Fourth of July wedding, from cookout themed hors d’oeuvres to an American flag themed wedding cake. The fun of planning the celebration along with the excitement your friends and family will feel on such a festive and exciting holiday will be sure to make your wedding one of the most memorable and creative weddings this season.
