The Met Gala – Who committed to the theme and who dressed to impress?

The Met Gala had a challenging theme this year, China: Through the Looking Glass. Many celebs are getting flack for their over the top outfits but that’s how the Gala is supposed to be! Outfits must prescribe to the theme and should be almost costume-like. A lot of celebrities did an amazing job sticking to the theme where other’s fell a little short. We’re here to show you our favorite looks from the Gala whether they be on theme, for any red carpet occasion or something in between!

Our favorite look of the night was worn by actress and Gala co-chair, Gong Li. This beautiful combination of velvet and lace not only pulls of the theme perfectly but could also be worn for any classy occasion.

Another favorite was worn by Olivia Munn, designed by J. Mendel. This gown goes great with the theme but could also definitely be seen at any red carpet event.

These dresses worn by Zendaya (Fausto Puglisis) and Karolina Kurkova (Tommy Hilfiger) were beautiful and fit the theme perfectly as did these ensembles below!

Emily Ratajkowski’s dress gets away from all the deep reds seen at the Gala but is beautifully simple and on theme.

Chinese actress, Fan Bing Bing, dons an intricate jewel tone cape, another unique dress fitting in perfectly for the night.

Solange’s Giles and Sarah Jessica Parker’s had some standout looks closer to costumes but again going great with the exhibits theme.

These beauties had a much more toned down look. Something that could be worn on any red carpet occasion, but still stunning nonetheless!
