Meet Elizabeth Pogas, a fashion design major from Hatfield, Pennsylvania. Elizabeth is a junior at Drexel University, and she is currently working on her co-op here at Priscilla Costa. She has always been drawn to bridal design, and loved the idea of working in a small couture atelier, in order to gain hands-on experience. Being able to learn a little bit of everything, rather than learning one specific thing, was actually one of the main reasons why she wanted to work at Priscilla Costa.
So far, Elizabeth has really enjoyed her experience at Priscilla Costa, and she loves how diverse her daily tasks are. One day she could be pressing dresses and organizing swatches, and the next, she could be hand or machine sewing garments and accessories. Elizabeth says that one of her favorite parts of all, is getting the first-hand experience of seeing brides come in for their fittings and looking at all the beautiful variety of wedding dresses.
Looking forward, Elizabeth is unsure of whether she wants to work in a small business or corporate setting, but one thing for sure is that she dreams of continuing to work in the bridal industry. Elizabeth can’t wait to apply everything she has learned on her co-op in her classes, and she is actually planning on designing a bridal line for her senior project using all her new skills.
