Everyone has got their opinions about the day of February 14th. I was once watching television and I remember a character saying “If your single, its designed to make you feel depressed and if you happen to be in love, start sellin out, chocolate, flowers, lingerie…” Needless to say, there is a lot of extreme sides to a holiday we simply view as sweet. People seem to have this notion that if your single, Valentines Day is the worst day of the year and if you’re in love it is a day of major expectation. We don’t think it necessarily has to be a day of either or extreme. Valentines Day is a simple and quirky holiday.
- It is not a serious holiday, so shelling out money isn’t necessary if you don’t want to, a simple hug is sufficient.
- Your Valentine does not have to be a romantic partner. Your best gal pal? Your dad? Your child? A loved one is a loved one and why not show them how much you love and appreciate them.
- If you’re single? Appreciate the surrounding love, feel the love in the air. If that doesn’t help, be your own valentine and treat yourself! New shoes anyone?
Bottom Line: Valentines Day is a day of love, romantic or not it should still be celebrated. There is no need to feel so strong against it, anybody can celebrate and appreciate a cute and adorable holiday. Xoxox, Priscilla Costa Bridal
